Workplace Health and Safety Policy

What is Safety and Health?

Safety and health is integral to Richmond Surveys & Geomatics daily work routine. The Health & Safety program is part of our commitment and is there to protect our workers, clients, property, the general public and our environment.

Why is Safety and Health Important to Richmond Land Surveys & Geomatics?

There are many costs to incidents and unsafe work practices. The greatest costs are human costs. By protecting our workers, we are also protecting their families, fellow workers, management, the public and the environment from the far-reaching effects of serious incidents. We are also protecting our ability to continue doing business and employ people. In addition to protecting lives, our Health & Safety program contributes to employee morale and pride because our workers participate in the identification of our corporate health and safety requirements, and in developing our safe practices.

Who is Responsible?

Everyone employed by Richmond Land Surveys & Geomatics is responsible for maintaining the safety and health program. Managers and supervisors are responsible for identifying safety and health needs, communicating safety and health hazards, investigating hazardous conditions and incidents, providing training, supplying or wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and meets legislated safety and health standards. Their role is supported by input from all of our workers. All company workers, and others on company work sites, are responsible for obeying all safety and health rules, following safe work procedures, wearing and using personal protective equipment when required, participating in safety and health training programs and informing supervisors of any unsafe work conditions.
